Navy War Base Buildings
The three structures the official how-to-play list actually names.
Navy War’s marketing is honest about the base: grow the economy, upgrade docks, shipyards, and factories, then launch a fleet. This page is the roster of those buildings. Rankings are on the building tier list. The money cadence is on the economy guide. Warships they feed are on warships.
Factory
Job: print the session.
Upgrade when: income feels like a bottleneck, which is most of the early game and after every sunk capital.
Gem when: you cannot name another bottleneck.
Factories are why codes matter. 150 Gems from KRAKEN, ADMIRALS, and DIAMONDZ should usually land here in hour one. A factory rank works while you are in PvP. That is a better investment than a hull you will donate.
Dock
Job: berth, launch, and hide hulls.
Upgrade when: finished ships have nowhere to sit, or you cannot keep a home guard plus a sortie.
Gem when: raids keep catching your fleet in the shipyard.
Docks are not income. Treat them as capacity and as the thing Submarines want to kill. The PvP guide assumes you have at least one hull at home. That hull needs a dock.
Shipyard
Job: turn cash into the next class on the official ladder.
Upgrade when: Destroyers are done and Cruisers (or the next class) are gated on time, not on money.
Gem when: income is already comfortable.
Maxing shipyard with empty factories is how you own one Battleship and no session. The fleet planner refuses that order on purpose.
Other structures
The public description does not name housing, oil rigs, or nuke silos. Those belong to Navy War Tycoon. If the live island has extra props - cranes, fuel, radar - treat them as flavor until an update names a mechanic. We will not copy another game’s building tree onto this page.
Base layout habits that survive raids
- Do not upgrade only the pretty dock facing the ocean and ignore factories in the back.
- Keep a cheap hull berthed even while the rest of the fleet is out.
- After a raid, repair factories before you repair ego.
- Use the mixed playstyle in how to play: factory, dock or shipyard, hull, repeat.
How the base feeds the roster
| Goal | Building to click |
|---|---|
| More cash per minute | Factory |
| More hulls in the water | Dock |
| Faster next class | Shipyard |
| Survive a raid | Dock + a home Destroyer |
| Recover from a sunk Battleship | Factory |
If two rows fire at once, pick the top one you cannot already do. Then go fight.
Your base is the fleet. The ships are just the part that leaves.
Session notes for the yard
Walk the island once per session. If factories are idle, you clicked the wrong building. If hulls sit finished with nowhere to berth, you clicked docks too late. If the next class is visible but the timer is a joke, you clicked shipyard too late. That three-way check is the whole base game. Pair it with warships so you are not upgrading a dock for a carrier you cannot fund. After a raid, repair factories first. After a win, do not immediately Gem a cosmetic. The fleet planner exists so the yard stays honest when the ocean is loud.
